Have you ever considered why people need a Financial Plan?

It is so that you and your family continue to enjoy the life you desire regardless of where life takes you, in order to give you financial certainty.

So why don’t people plan? In the past, centuries of culture dictated that humans tended to live very much in the moment and needs were focused on survival above all else with little requirement to plan for a long life. Two things have changed this.

Increased longevity: On Census Day in 2021, there were 13,924 centenarians living in England and Wales, a 24.5% increase from 2011. At the time of their birth (1921), the number of centenarians in the population was 110, a 127-fold increase¹.

The Financial Times Adviser estimates £7tn (in today’s money) will pass between generations in the UK over the next 30 years².

4-Stage Process

Stage 1 – Understanding your World

We need to understand you. Your values. What makes you tick. Your hopes, aspirations and fears for yourself and your family.

Through this process, we will work with you to consider all the moving parts of your financial world and what plans are already in place.

Priorities will emerge that will become the bedrock of your Financial Plan.

Stage 2 – Building your Plan

Using information from stage 1 and existing plans, we will research the best options available which will aim to achieve your goals.

It is not a wish list but a set of realistic solutions considering affordability, investment beliefs and your values.

It is a plan personal to you.

Stage 3 – Agree your Plan

We present our proposals to you and recap the areas discussed.

We take the time to ensure you fully understand how the plan will help you achieve your objectives and make any adjustments needed.

We like plain English, so don’t worry – no jargon! A Financial Plan can be complex, but our approach is simple.

Stage 4 – Implement your Plan

What it says on the tin. It’s not the fun part, but care with paperwork and applications is a very important and crucial final stage of the advice process.

Looking after your Plan

Your plan needs to be taken care of. If not, over time, it risks becoming outdated and out of step with your changing circumstances.

Think of it like a car that receives a regular service. Look after the car, and it will look after you. A Financial Plan is no different.

Your plan needs to be protected against an ever changing world. We call these the three ‘R’s. We Repeat the four-stage advice process, Respond when changes occur and Reassure when the best thing to do is nothing.
